About
The album
Zar wrote, produced and performed the songs of his first album. "Sundial has been years in the making. I wanted my music to be just like I was hearing it in my head. So I took my time". There's no theme for this album. "Just ten songs I think are cool enough to share with everybody".
Zar's music has a definite pop-rock feel. "I use a variety of instruments - and my guitars - to create my sound texture. I am always looking for the right feel. Then I sing to breathe more life into the songs". Zar's lyrics are dynamic, laced with romantic and spiritual overtones. "I like it when we move and are passionate about life. That's what I explore in sounds and words".
The style
The artist
Zar was born in Montreal. He's primarily a singer and guitarist, "but I love using keyboards and the sound of strings and brass". Self-producing was not what Zar aimed for at first. "Today's technology made Sundial possible, along with Bobby John's technical wizardry, his guitars and his bass. I want to thank drummer and keyboardist Claude Vecerina for inspiring the first stages of the project. And special thanks to Jean Corbeil, the maestro behind the camera for my videos".
